One of the first areas that fractals were used was on creating digital terrains. In this section, we`ll look from start to finish how to build a node system that provide us the power to create interesting and unique terrains with VEX, how to control them and also how to comprehend the idea behind a multi-fractal terrain.

"For Loop " VEX Node
One of the greatest nodes in VEX is the "for loop" node, it allows you to repeat the same sequence of code many times. however it has a very specific condition it needs to meet to work properly. Continuing with the effort to evolve the fractal system , we will delve into how to take advantage of the "for loop" to implement richness and a more natural look. Along side the "for loop", we will introduce a method to securely change the input parameters of the network.

Multi-Fractal Workflow
Once we understand what is behind a good fractal system, its time to start bringing to life a complete multi-fractal OTL. In this section we`ll cover every information you need to achieve a great , clean and efficient system.

Introducing Volumetric Networks
Working with volumetric nodes in Houdini is a delicate thing. It can be an intensive process if you don't handle it right. Our goal here is to present the viewer with a unique way to manage the intricate details within the volumetric process. How to properly set your scene to receive volumetric elements, how to render them, shade, understand definitions and set specific rules to achieve a believable result.

Custom Volumetric Displacement
In this chapter we will introduce the epicenter of our product. Combining all the knowledge we acquired until here to build our own custom volumetric displacements. We will use a simple system to create a pyroclastic cloud to understand the technique behind control vectors and how they can help us to properly add displacements.

Object Volumetric Setup
One of the most required option in a good volumetric system is the ability to apply it to any kind of source object. This can be extremely helpful to draw unique designs and to style clouds in any way we desire. Here we will explain extensively all the necessary steps to accomplish ultimate control on where your volumes will be applied. The only limit is your imagination!

Cloud Systems Workflow
Everything we have learned so far culminates in this outstanding Cloud System workflow. Utilizing our custom multi-fractal OTL and all the knowledge acquired through all the lessons, we will demonstrate how you can create unbelievable natural cloud effect and how to control it in any form your production demands, thus optimizing visibility and rendering to have a great viewport feedback together with great rendering results.

About The Author
Andreu Lucio is a spanish cg professional with more than 10 years experience and is 32 years old. After studying visual communication, he started working in international cartoon series in 1999, "The triplets", "Juanito Jones" and "Tom" as a Cg Artist for a company called Cromosoma. He become the Lead Cg Artist so learned a lot about light, colors, compositing, fx and how important they are for improving the final result. During his carrier working in some of the top spanish studios he has deeply use softwares like 3d Max, Maya, Houdini, Modo, Combustion, Nuke. Stuff like dynamics, expressions, maya mel and python had been present almost always in his long r&d sessions. Never stopped learning neither working so how to fit developed techniques in the real production its been the key goal for him. For the last 3 years he is working in Torsion Animation, a small Houdini based studio that has co-founded, creating motion graphics and visual fx for commercials. The studio is really small, so it has to use his skills from modeling to compositing and Houdini′s power in order to get the job finished within the tight deadlines and the high quality demanded.

In this course, we will learn how to create a realistic rifle and then process the high-res mesh into a lower-res mech usable in game engines.
Creating high resolution props and sets can be really useful in film or video. But when working in games and other real-time applications, it's often necessary to use lower resolution geometry. To create the illusion of greater detail than the resolution would allow, normal maps are often employed. These maps allow us to display a high level of detail on a fairly low resolution mesh. We'll begin this course by building a high resolution assault rifle using a variety of modeling tools in Maya. Once we have the high resolution mesh built, we can build a much lower resolution cage around the mesh, taking into account any of the details that we want to capture. Once we're done, we'll create a uv layout for the low rez pieces and use Transfer Maps to create and apply a normal map calculated from our high resolution geometry. Upon completion, you'll have a finished rifle, but also the ability to create your own normal-mapped assets for use in games or any realtime application.

Hairfarm Professional Cracked COMPLETE! 2012 x64





Hair Farm was designed and developed by Dr. Cem Yuksel, a Computer Graphics researcher at Texas A&M University, over the course of more than 6 years.
When Cem Yuksel first started the Hair Farm project, the available technologies in Computer Graphics for modeling, animating, and rendering hair were very limited and under-developed for producing a hair software that would fully satisfy an artist. Therefore, while he was writing Hair Farm, he also got engaged in a number of research activities and proposed various novel technologies required for a solid hair modeling, animation, and rendering software.
After 6 years of research and development, he managed to solve the last piece of the puzzle with his invention of Hair Meshes. This novel hair modeling approach is presented in SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 in the Technical Papers session, among some of the top Computer Graphics research works being published this year.
Hair Farm is not just another tool for producing hair on virtual characters. It is a completely new design that combines state-of-the-art technologies with an artist-friendly user interface and a flexible workflow.
Some of the novel technologies in Hair Farm are the following:


* A whole new hair modeling pipeline combining the best ideas both the industry and the academia, including hair mesh modeling,
* An artist-friendly realistic hair material that can efficiently handle complicated light behavior like multiple scattering in hair volume to produce physically-based realism,
* A highly optimized high-quality ray tracer for hair that automatically handles anti-aliasing without the need to specify the number of samples,
* A whole new hair simulation technique that can robustly handle complicated models and advanced physical behavior like hair-hair interaction,
* Technologies in curve representations for modeling and rendering.

These novel technologies in their most advanced form only exist in Hair Farm. No other hair production tool, including commercial software and proprietary tools used in major studios, has these technologies. With Hair Farm you can produce images that cannot be replicated by any other software in the world!

In addition to these published technologies above, Hair Farm includes many novel proprietary technologies, some of which will be published in the near future.

Bug fixes:

    Noise with "Clamp output" option enabled produced noisy renders;
    Hilights from the base reflection layer of VRayCarPaintMtl material were darker than they should be;
    Slow rendering with many overlapping VRayProxy primitives;
    Randomly missing gizmos when rendering VRayEnvironmentFog;
    VRayLights that exclude an object could still affect that object through GI;
    Rendering with GI may use more detailed texture mip-map levels than necessary;
    VRayHDRI may not respect the specified memory limit for tiled textures;
    Crashes with particle systems with 3d displacement and motion blur enabled;
    Spikes with 3d displacement with "Keep continuity" enabled and particular bad geometry;
    Incorrect velocity element with VRayFur;
    Image copied from VFB to clipboard had the first column of pixels swapped for the last one;
    Loading an image in the V-Ray VFB with a different resolution did not work correctly;
    img2tiledexr used wrong formula when converting images from sRGB color space;
    vrim2exr did not preserve the pixel aspect information in the resulting .exr file;
    ply2vrmesh can convert RealFlow .bin files to .vrmesh files;
    VRayExposureControl was not accessible from MaxScript;
    Script error when there is a VRayPlane object in the scene;
    VRayPhysicalCamera in "Movie" mode was not exported correctly;
    Mesh lights were not exported with the .vrscene exporter script;
    Fringes on the edges of flakes in VRayCarPaintMtl material;
    Crash with VRayCarPaintMtl material when rendering of texture maps is globally disabled;
    Warning about "Retrace threshold" and "Use light cache for glossy rays" was printed even when not using the light cache;
    Exception after rendering when the "V-Ray raw image file" is chosen and the V-Ray VFB is not enabled;
    The V-Ray presets did not load if they were saved on a system where the decimal symbol is ",";
